About Sherry
Sherry Robinson grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, and except for a brief time in Tennessee, she has lived in Kentucky all her life. She loves spending time with her husband, her sons and daughter-in-law, and her grandsons. She spent 15 years as the volunteer director for a local food pantry.
Writing
Sherry has spent her whole life writing. Or at least it feels that way sometimes. From the time she wrote a poem with her spelling words in the second grade, she fell in love with putting words together in some creative way. After spending many years writing academic papers, her creative side re-emerged. She published her first novel, My Secrets Cry Aloud, in 2009. Her second novel, Blessed, was released in 2019. Her third novel, Shadows Hold Their Breath, was released in July 2022 and a new edition of her first novel, re-titled Echo Her Lovely Bones, will be released in October 2022.
Professional
Sherry spent a quarter of a century at Eastern Kentucky University. She spent thirteen years as a professor in English, nine of those as the Director of the Writing Center. She retired in 2020 from EKU as the Vice Provost. She holds a PhD in English from the University of Kentucky, an MFA in creative writing and an MA in English from Eastern Kentucky University, and a BS in Mass Communication from Middle Tennessee State University,
Travel
Sherry loves to travel, whether its to exotic places like Iceland or to small towns all over the country. She has traveled to or through all 50 states (several more than once) and to nearly 20 countries.
